Hello CVE Families!

Welcome back!  We hope you had a sunsational summer!  The 2010-2011 school year is sure to be a fun-filled year of learning, activities and making new friends for both students and parents.

As CVE PTO Co-Presidents and on behalf of the PTO Members, we are looking forward to a fabulous year!  One of the highlights, our students and parents and community will have the experience to enjoy during the year, is CVE hosting, for an entire month this winter, the MAZZA Museum Speak! Collection.  What is MAZZA?  Well, more information will follow in the coming months.  But, for those of you who want a sneak peak, go to http://mazzacollection.org

Let’s talk about Fundraising!  Fundraising is a vital part of every group.  Our fundraising efforts provide the students with classroom coordinated t-shirts, fieldtrips and assemblies plus new technology for our building, just to touch on a few.  Let us say, we have some fantastic assemblies to keep our minds motivated this year!

In the past, at different times during the school year, we have sent home catalogs/brochures of various items for your children to sell to family and friends.  We know that, in addition to school, children fundraise for their extracurricular activities as well.  Sometimes it seems our children are ‘always selling something’.  Just remember, in lieu of ‘selling’, you may always send in a monetary donation, payable to CVE PTO – any amount is greatly appreciated.

We will continue our favorites this year such as the Fall and Spring Book Fairs that the students love.  Our Barnes and Noble Day will remain in the winter to brighten up those wintertime blues and allow the children the excitement to see their teachers outside of the classroom environment.  For all of you chocolate lovers, we will also offer candy before both holiday seasons for your personal enjoyment and gift-giving. 

In keeping up with bettering our world, CVE continues to make changes toward ‘Going Green’.  Please take time to visit our new outdoor classrooms and other botanical happenings around the building.  CVE PTO is also striving to be as paperless as possible this year – our kitchen countertops will thank us.
